Basic insurance (KVG) benefits are identical at every insurer by law. If you switch from SWICA to another insurer, you keep exactly the same basic cover — only the premium changes. Every insurer must accept you for basic insurance, without health questions.

SWICA must notify you of your personal 2027 premium.
30 November 2026
Your basic-insurance cancellation must have reached SWICA (switch effective 1 January 2027).
Supplementary insurance (VVG) is governed separately and has its own notice periods. A new supplementary policy may require health questions.

How do I cancel my basic insurance with SWICA?
With a written cancellation letter that reaches SWICA by 30 November. The switch then takes effect on 1 January. You need a confirmation of acceptance from your new insurer first.
Will I lose coverage if I leave SWICA?
No. By law, basic insurance offers the same benefits at every insurer. Supplementary insurance is separate.
